How do I schedule an appointment?

A counseling session may be scheduled through one of our nurses or office schedulers. You may be asked to state a brief reason for making the appointment so we can be sure to schedule adequate time to address all of your concerns.

Do I need a physician referral?

No, a referral is not necessary to see a counselor.

How long will the appointment be?

An initial counseling session is generally scheduled for 45 to 60 minutes. A follow up appointment may be 30 to 45 minutes.

Are these visits confidential?

Yes, information form a counseling session will only be shared with members of the treatment team with your written permission.


 
 

I've never seen a counselor before, what should I expect?

During a counseling session you may talk about your current concerns, sort out your feelings, and identify ways to cope with problems and find effective solutions.

Do you see couples?

Yes. Counseling may include individual and / or couples sessions

Can I be seen for issues unrelated to my infertility treatment?

Yes. You may schedule an appointment to discuss any concerns that are of importance to you.

What is the cost of a counseling session?

An initial session lasting 45 to 60 minutes will be $125.00 to $150.00. A follow-up session lasting from 30 to 45 minutes will be $75.00 to $125.00.

How many sessions do I need?

Many patients feel significant improvements in 1 to 3 visits. Most patients are seen for less than 6 visits.

Are these visits covered by my insurance?

Counseling sessions are billed on a fee for service basis. Payment is expected at the time of your appointment. We will provide you with a separate statement that you may submit to you insurance company.

Please note that if you have "in-network" coverage with the physicians in our practice, you "in-network" coverage does not include our psychological services. You will still need to pay for the session at the time service is rendered and submit the statement to you insurance company for reimbursement.

Your plan may offer a benefit for out-of-network psychological services. Even if you have no coverage for infertility, you may be covered for psychological services.
